What to expect from the DP coordination workshop
St Clare's workshops on Coordination provide an interactive experience in terms of understanding the IB mission and philosophy and learning about the practicalities of working as a DP coordinator in school.
This workshop is aimed at those who are completely new to the diploma programme and to those who have been teaching within the diploma programme but have no experience of coordination. It considers the philosophy of the IB as driven by the standards and practices and looks specifically at the role of the learner profile, international mindedness and the approaches to learning. It will also discuss the importance of the core looking at TOK, CAS and the Extended Essay. Furthermore the workshop will consider the scope of the job as a coordinator, setting up the programme for students, the assessment of the programme, the role of languages and the use of IB websites. The aim is for participants to leave the workshop with a good understanding of what the position entails and how to effectively undertake the job.
A workshop pack will be provided, but participants should ensure they have a means of accessing the Internet.
